Undoubtedly the highlight of our trip was climbing Fox Glacier. That’s right WE CLIMBED A GLACIER! Walking on ice that is slowly melting and shifting around you is just incredible, as is looking at the mountains on either side of the valley and seeing the path carved by the ice over tens of thousands of years. Words can’t do the experience justice. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves.

Note: We did the ‘Fox Trot’ with Fox Glacier Guiding and they were excellent. Our guide knew his stuff inside and out and there wa a big emphasis on safety as well as adventure.
